Echoes of Transition
Ceramics and Digitally Fabricated PLA
12 x 12 x 12 cm
Calgary, Alberta | 2026
Emotions imprint on the body like layers of skin—some brittle and sharp, others bending and flexing. Carrying porcelain fragments from past spatial explorations and sensory traces once marked on the body, this intimate 12 cm cubic sculpture allows quiet memories to breathe anew.
Digitally fabricated structures and soft woven threads seek an emergent balance with the fired porcelain. Looking beyond the novelty of new technologies, digital tools become a subtle, profound extension of the hand. Rigidity yields to flexibility through a gradual transition; structure holds the memory of breakages, and opposing realities find a soft, resonant poise—a skin shaping who I was and who I am becoming.
